About 2 and a half years ago, my left arm felt heavy and tired, without strength. I started investigations at cardiology, MRI, various tests all without an answer.

I went to a first neurologist, he recommended an EMG, following a terrible diagnosis...Motor neuron disease or ALS. After many EMGs, toxicological testing for heavy metals, hair analysis, MRI, visits to several doctors in the country, I "accepted" the diagnosis and decided to fight this disease.

About ALS..it is an aggressive, fatal disease that affects the nervous system and causes muscle weakness and interferes with physical functions. The exact causes of the disease are not known, hereditary or working in toxic environments.. research is not yet at the beginning but it seems to be close to a first treatment.

Currently my life has changed completely, I am in the process of retiring due to illness, I need personal assistance non-stop. I can no longer go down the stairs, it is extremely difficult for me to dress myself, to eat myself. With each passing day it is even more difficult for me to maintain my "independence".

My story..

I started with physiotherapy and current therapy, which did not help me (at that time I did not have a diagnosis).

I was admitted to the Saint Sava Hospital for recovery, to preserve muscle mass and mobility.

I recently found an experimental treatment, which seems to have good results, in Florida, which is based on a stem cell transplant with my own cells harvested from the spinal cord, processed and then injected.

This treatment can give me time until the fall when phase III of the PrimeC treatment will open, it is a revolutionary treatment with promising results. This treatment was only distributed in America in the first 2 phases and will be distributed in Europe this year.

In Europe/Romania the only approved treatment is Rilutek, which increases life expectancy by 6 months. The less research there is here, the more difficult it is to be accepted, since most only accept national patients or have no results and there are no studies in Romania.

The cost of the treatment in Florida is 30,000 euros, an amount that unfortunately we do not have because all the tests and treatment in China, the recovery programs in these 2 years have exhausted all of our family's life savings, the costs amounting to approximately 40,000 euros.
