 More than 10,000 homes were damaged or destroyed during the September 2024 floods. The government is offering the victims 200 thousand zlotys of support, but in view of current prices in the construction market, this amount is dramatically insufficient. Ordering a company to build is a cost of at least 350-450 thousand zlotys for a house up to 70 sqm.

 The situation in flood areas is particularly difficult due to the scale of the destruction and insufficient support mechanisms for reconstruction. The victims receive mainly ad hoc aid, while there is a lack of systemic solutions to help them actually rebuild their homes and lives. Flood victims lack not only money, but, above all, technical knowledge and specific tools on how to effectively use available resources.

 In addition, construction companies are raising prices in the affected areas, taking advantage of increased demand, making reconstruction even more difficult. Many people face a dramatic choice - either to go into debt for many years or to remain homeless.

 Your help will create a platform with ready-made projects, tutorials and lists of materials so that every flood victim can rebuild his or her own home. Importantly, this project will benefit not only anyone affected by the tragedy of losing their home in the floods, but also any person who dreams of having their own home, but does not want to go into debt for decades in the form of a mortgage. By building a house yourself according to our designs, you can save up to half of the cost compared to traditional construction methods.

 The „DOM NA NOWO” platform will include:

1.Full technical documentation of energy-efficient houses from 35 m² to 70 m² adapted to different needs and family sizes.

2.Editable house designs that can be easily adapted with the help of a local architect.

3.Energy analyses confirming the energy efficiency of buildings (significantly lower bills).

4.Comprehensive construction guides including:

a) Detailed schedule of works in accordance with the art of construction,

b) Detailed documentation of each construction element,

c) Summary of all materials with cost optimization,

d) Budget of implementation with breakdown into stages,

e) List of necessary tools and equipment,

f) Instructions for using basic tools and construction techniques.

5.Guide to formalities - how to prepare all the documentation before starting construction.

6. Advice on energy savings and low operating costs,

7. Support community - a dedicated online group where participants will be able to:

a) Exchange construction experiences,

b) Receive answers to technical questions,

c) Support each other in the rebuilding process,

d) Share tips and solutions to problems encountered during construction.

8. All projects will be optimized with regard to:

a) Availability of materials on the Polish market,

b) Speed of implementation (the house can be erected in 2-3 months),

c) Feasibility of doing it yourself or with the help of family and neighbors

d) Durability and safety, in accordance with all construction standards.

Importantly, this solution will be helpful not only for flood victims, but for anyone who wants to significantly reduce the cost of building their own home in the face of rising prices in the construction market.

Teams of professionals with relevant professional licenses will be engaged to implement the project:

a) Architects with design qualifications,

b) Constructors with experience in frame technology,

c) Plumbing (electrical, plumbing, heating) designers,

d) Experts in energy efficiency of buildings with certification,

e) Experienced contractors to help develop practical guides.

 Each element of the documentation will comply with current building and energy standards, which will ensure not only the safety of the structure, but also allow you to obtain all the necessary permits.

The funds raised in the fundraiser will be used to hire teams of professionals with relevant licenses and experience, including architects, builders, installation designers and energy experts, who will work on:

1. Developing professional designs for energy-efficient houses in editable versions,

2. Conducting energy analyses confirming the economy of the proposed solutions,

3. Creation of comprehensive construction guides with full technical documentation,

4. Building an online platform and community of support for builders,

5. Promotion of the project to increase outreach and reach as many people in need as possible.

It is worth noting that the development of professional technical documentation is a significant cost - a single house design that meets the objectives of our project (energy efficiency, optimization of construction costs, the possibility of self-construction) is an expense of several thousand zlotys. Professional designs, analyses and guides make up the largest part of the budget, because it is on their quality that the success of the entire project and real savings for flood victims depends.

Quality and reliability are the cornerstones of this project, so all work will be carried out by licensed professionals with years of experience in their fields. Every piece of documentation will comply with current construction and energy standards.

The project will be implemented in stages to deliver assistance to those in need as soon as possible:

a) First 2 months: development of the first complete energy-efficient house project with full documentation and launch of the support group

b) Subsequent months: systematically adding more projects and expanding the platform

Thanks to the phased approach, the first flood victims will be able to start preparing for construction as early as 2 months after the launch of the project, which means the possibility of starting work Q2 2025.

The support community will run in parallel with the development of the platform, offering immediate assistance and experience sharing among project participants. It will be a place where every builder can count on professional hints and support from others in a similar situation.

It is worth noting that the amount of PLN 50 000,00 EURO that flood victims receive from the government as support is not the real cost of building a traditional house. Our project aims to optimize solutions in such a way as to significantly reduce the cost of construction and enable the amount to be used in the most efficient way possible.
