Hello, I’m asking for help on behalf of a friend, as he’s currently in a very tricky situation. 

It’s about his dog, Lissy. 

Lissy is now eight years young and has been through a lot; she came to Germany from Spain as a puppy and then found a lovely owner, who sadly passed away in 2021. Since then, Lissy has suffered from severe separation anxiety and extreme fear (at least initially) of men. After that, she was moved around a lot until she came to live with my friend’s family in 2022. He took her in and it was a long journey, as at first she was only attached to his wife; now she loves them both and has found a good home there. Unfortunately, however, her health problems are never-ending.

First she had laryngitis, for which she was treated. Then it went on and on, with all sorts of minor issues cropping up. 

Then she developed a high fever and stopped eating; she was examined for all sorts of things, but she eventually got better and life was good again. 

But now, unfortunately, my boyfriend has recently become unemployed and, because of this situation, has no savings left. 

The situation now is that Lissy has recently been having great difficulty breathing and this needs to be treated urgently; however, as the vet does not offer payment by instalments and it is not possible to take out pet insurance, we are asking for help here. 

If the amount we manage to raise is higher than the vet’s bill, we will donate the difference to the Tiertafel.
