My name is Veronika. I am a twenty-year-old student and I am raising money for my family so we can save it for emergencies or everyday expenses, such as groceries. Currently, my family lives from paycheck to paycheck due to my mom's health condition.

My mom, Iva, is a single mom and a nurse. She underwent a spinal surgery almost two years back, and even now, she is getting new diagnoses, meaning more and more complications. She has a damaged nerve in her leg, which makes it hard for her to walk for a long time and sometimes move at all. Her cervical nerve canal is narrowed, so it pushes on the nerves going to her arms. That makes her unable to raise her arms above her head and gives her immense pain. Due to this and other factors like intense pain in her lower spinal area, she had to shorten her work days as a nurse because the job is physically demanding, meaning less money.

Due to her surgery, she had to walk with crutches. Later, half of her hair fell out due to the medical team giving her too many medications, so we had to buy a wig and other things, such as shampoos and brushes for maintaining said wig, which wasn't cheap. We have to spend a lot of money on medication and medical supplies, such as a neck posture pump. We also spend money on medical procedures every month (injections recommended by specialists), so she gets short-term relief from the pain she is experiencing.

Being a single mom, taking care of a household with two children is not easy at all. My brother and I both get some money, but it is not enough to have family savings. So this is my way to help us all a little bit. I simply want to see my mom not worry for a day. She is my best friend and the best mom ever.
