Please help cover the costs of treating the injured horses and moving the stud farm to a safe location

I am appealing to everyone who loves animals, believes in justice and understands what it means to fight for those who cannot defend themselves.

We are forced to move the stud farm to a new location as a matter of urgency. We have purchased a farmstead, but at present it lacks almost everything needed for the horses to live safely: there are no paddocks, no electricity, no water, no borehole and no infrastructure in place.

The horses need a safe place now. Not in a year’s time, not when everything is convenient, but as soon as possible.

Our story is a very painful one. The stud farm that we built with our own hands, through our labour, at the expense of our health and with our last savings, has been lost. It was not just a place for horses. It was our home, our work, our children’s activities, our life’s project and our dream.

Over the past few years, we have been through a real hell. Previously, a house on our property was set alight, possibly deliberately. Now we are facing even more terrible things — the horses are being injured, they are not safe, and we live in constant fear, tension and uncertainty.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the injured horses. Photographs have been submitted to the police, along with details of the circumstances and the possible perpetrator; however, as we have been told, there is currently still insufficient evidence for the investigation. Until those responsible are identified and the situation is resolved, the horses cannot be kept safely in that environment.

Apart from the emotional trauma and constant fear, these incidents have also had very real financial consequences. The injured horses require veterinary treatment, examinations, medication, procedures, wound care and follow-up visits. Veterinary bills have already reached around €2,000, but this figure may still change as the horses are still undergoing treatment.

Despite everything, we are not giving up. The horses are not to blame for human conflicts, court cases, anger or revenge. They must have secure paddocks, water, electricity, shelter and the chance to live in peace.

In order to move the horses to a safer place as soon as possible, we are currently raising €25,000 for the first essential phase.

This is not the final cost of restoring the entire stud farm. It is the minimum amount required to cover the treatment of injured horses, install water and electricity, set up paddocks and ensure at least a basic level of safety at the new location.

Preliminary minimum estimate

1. Veterinary bills for the injured horses – currently around €2,000

This sum includes veterinary examinations, wound treatment, medication, dressings, procedures, follow-up visits and ongoing care. This figure may still change, as the horses are still undergoing treatment, require ongoing care, and the final treatment costs are not yet clear.

2. Electricity connection and temporary power distribution – approximately €4,000

Minimal work to connect the electricity supply, a temporary electrical cabinet, cables, safety measures and basic electrical distribution across the site.

3. Water well and water connection – approximately €6,000

Installation of a borehole or an initial water supply solution, a pump, a pressure booster, connection and the necessary materials to ensure the horses have a constant source of water.

4. Horse fencing – approx. €7,000

Poles, electric fencing tape or rope, insulators, gates, electric pulse generators, batteries, earthing and materials to install several secure paddocks.

5. Water tanks, troughs and temporary water distribution – approx. €1,000

Water tanks, troughs, hoses, connectors and temporary solutions to ensure all horses have access to clean water every day.

6. Equipment hire, earthworks and site preparation – approx. €2,000

Preparing sites for paddocks, creating access routes, gate locations, minimal levelling and necessary work using machinery.

7. Security: CCTV, lighting and additional security measures – approx. €1,000

Essential CCTV cameras, lighting and security measures to monitor the site and protect the horses from potential incidents.

8. Contingencies, transport and platform fees – approximately €2,000

Transporting the horses, fuel, additional materials, urgent work, minor but necessary expenses and platform fees.

Total amount required for the first phase: €25,000

This is not a request for a more pleasant environment or for convenience. This is a request to help cover the cost of treating injured horses and to create a minimally safe space so that we can remove them from an unsafe environment and protect their lives and health.

If we raise less than this, we will prioritise the funds for the most essential tasks:

1. veterinary bills for the injured horses,

2. water,

3. fencing,

4. electricity,

5. security.

Every euro counts for a great deal at the moment. For one person, it might be just a few euros, but for us it could mean a paid-for vet’s visit, medication, bandages, another stake, a few more metres of fencing, a water trough or another step towards a safe place for the horses.
