Description
Dear Supporter,
My name is Roland Kustán and I am a graphic designer and illustrator. Over the last few years, I have run numerous creative painting sessions and art clubs for children, which have generally been a source of great joy for both the children and their parents. I have often found that parents are not always able to afford the materials needed for their children to take part in these creative events.
I often find that although a child is talented at drawing or painting, unfortunately their parents are unable to support their creative development financially. I believe that everyone is creative in the arts to some extent; with persistent practice and hard work, the majority can reach their full potential and, by the time they reach adulthood, can pursue their creative passion, perhaps even making a living from it.
My plan is to make art forms and creative education for children financially accessible, ensuring it is available to those in need as well. No child should miss out on an art club or a painting workshop simply because their parents cannot afford it. As a first step, I would like to run art clubs and personalised creative workshops in the more disadvantaged parts of the country (e.g. if someone wants to draw comics or is interested in digital art, I’ll make it happen). I would like to ask for your help and expertise in this. As a first step, I would like to set up a centre on Lake Balaton; I had a great deal of interest in that area, and from there we could cover the whole of Transdanubia.
I would like to set up a studio on the shores of Lake Balaton, for which I would ask for your financial support; the studio would be configured to accommodate around 20 children, and I need to acquire canvases, drawing materials, easels and digital tools so the children can create art. During the summer, I’d also like to run a camp in partnership with local businesses, which I think would attract many children and young people. There would also be guest artists who would demonstrate techniques such as watercolour, pastel and oil painting, so that everyone can find the form of expression that appeals to them most.
To make all this happen, I would need 45 million forints.
In return, I offer:
Each of my supporters will receive a complimentary two-session drawing or painting course, or a caricature drawing for up to two people!
Trusting that you too see the potential and imagination in this, I remain, with respect:
Roland Kustán
