My husband left and left me and the kids to fend for ourselves with a 750 euro rented flat that I can't pay on my own. He was supposed to pay the rent here once before he left, he didn't and now he is "rent-deprived" for one month. I don't think it is, but the rent is always a bit late. The landlord is not flexible and does not want to understand or agree. The flat is awful and old, the shower cubicle is small and cramped and the door is broken so you can't even clean it properly, he refuses to fix that either. The oven broke and that's my fault too and he won't buy a new one. Someone in this apartment building came to steal things from us and I'm scared because the next theft will happen. It's happened twice already. I want to move out of here to a smaller flat but because of the rent arrears I can't get out of here. Soon I will be evicted and the rent will go into foreclosure and then I can't get a new apartment so I should move to the sky with my kids... I need help, it's a big emergency. At the turn of the year my income dropped by almost 700 euros, I am partially housebound and my housing benefit is only 44 euros a month and I am waiting in fear for the housing benefit review, the benefit should now increase but they say it might only go up to 300-400 euros but that is not enough to pay the rent as my income is low. I keep applying for more work and hope that it will work out but it doesn't help at the moment and the fear and insecurity that this overpayment of rent and the poor condition of the flat and the theft are causing. I need help to get the rent sorted so I can move out of here with the kids. There is nowhere I can get help and my relatives don't want to help and some of them can't. Please help me, I beg you most humbly. The car repair costs were more than I thought and even that I cannot manage now and I need the car to get to work as it is so far away that I cannot get there otherwise. Soon they'll take the cheque away as well when I can't pay for it.
