Dear All, we are starting a new business in Lisbon, Portugal—a Foodbike Concept with a focus on selling 'freshly prepared Dutch Artisan Pancake Specialties'. We have experience in the Restaurant business managing a fast food restaurant focussed on Vegetarian Burgers and other fresh-prepared fast foods. By helping us to start this Food Bike Pancake concept you will be helping homeless people in Lisbon daily. Because with our Food Bike, we want to provide at least 20 fresh prepared meals for homeless people per day, might not seem much but please keep reading and discover it's a significant contribution!

Food Bike Concept

Our concept is designed and created by ourselves (a couple with 2 kids) living in Lisbon, Portugal. It is based on a special build Bike Trailer completely set up for transporting all necessities and serving as a Kitchen and Sales area in any location in Lisbon. A mobile unit that can be transported and dropped off at any location in Lisbon by just using a bike. The small footprint design also allows the Bike Trailer to be transported and used as a hand-pushed cart in the Train and Metro for easy transport within the city area. (We designed and will build the Food Bike Trailer by ourselves).

Why Dutch Pancake Specialties

As my husband was born in The Netherlands, he has a lot of experience in making Pancakes for many many years. Family recipes are passed on for many many generations and we have turned them into several Pancakehut-specialties that we will be selling with our Food Bike. Everything is freshly prepared by ourselves from hand-picked ingredients. So we can deliver healthy, affordable fast food in Lisbon for people enjoying the beautiful city or on their way to and from work.

What we need

With this 4Fund fundraising, we are hoping to gather enough starting capital to build our first Pancake Food Bike and set up this Scaleable concept for eventually rolling out the first 10 Foodbike Trailers and Dutch 'Bakfietsen', as the first 10 Sales points of our Healthy Fast Food Pancakehut Chain concept.

By helping us to start this Food Bike Pancake concept you will be helping homeless people in Lisbon daily. Because with our Food Bike, we want to provide at least 20 fresh prepared meals for homeless people per day.

This will result in a minimum of 100 fresh meals per week, and yearly around 5.000 meals for the homeless. A small contribution you might think, but this would be with just 1 Food Bike in action, scaling our concept to 10 Food Bikes would result in around 50.000 meals per year!! We won't stop there...the more we can sell, the more we will give back, it's that simple.
