Description
Hey. Hey,
I'm Cuba, I'm 25 years old and I need help.
In short, I've done stupid things in my life that I'm now correcting. I dropped out of high school at 16, worked in various jobs for 4 years. I didn't enjoy that, stereotypical work, underpaid. I decided to go to the Netherlands. I signed a contract and got the funds to start (housing, food, transport). I'm not proud of it, but I got the funding with a loan from Raiffeisenbank. I was supposed to start in June 2019, but covid intervened, the borders were closed and the contract was cancelled. I have always been an "A" student so I decided to try, albeit after the entrance exams, to apply for high school. I love nature, agriculture and plant science were the obvious choices.
This year I graduated (with honours) and full of enthusiasm, energy and the feeling that I had finally managed to get my life together, at least in part, I applied for university, specifically for the field of Agroecology.
However, I could not have survived these 4 years without the help of my girlfriend, my mom and a great friend. I lived and still live on debt. Although I go to various part-time jobs, there is not much work after the covid period, and certainly not the flexible kind. Life is expensive.
I'm 25, I wasted my youth on stupidity and mistakes. So now I have about three options.
1) go to work and get my financial house in order (it's not that bad, let's say 200,000)
2) rely on the little I earn from my part-time jobs and the help of my family, which is mentally draining (my mother works two jobs and supports me as much as she can, but she is not in the best health, she is currently having surgery and even without that it is hard on my head to deal with the fact that she is working two jobs to fix my mistakes, not to mention the hurt I have caused her).
3) Sovereign begging - people donate money to all sorts of things these days, so why not give it a try? It's a free choice, and though it goes strongly against my grain in the corner of moral values, it's an option.
I've said the short version, so I'll end the "short" version there.
I'm kind of writing this on my knee and between lectures. As time goes on, I'll correct errors, add information, and most importantly, preferably later tonight, I'll complete the extensive version, in case anyone is interested in the full story. And I will also probably add the English text.
Thank you
