My name is Mirijam, I am 38 years old and for the past six years I have dedicated my life to rescuing and caring for animals here in Greece. I have taken in, cared for and given shelter to countless dogs and cats. But now I am facing the most difficult time of my life – and I urgently need support.

Following a sudden, unexpected move, I had to fight for survival with my 22 dogs and 12 cats. Several of my charges fell seriously ill with parvovirus and coronavirus. Despite all my efforts and medical care, I lost two beautiful puppies – a pain I can scarcely put into words. 💔

The vet bills now total 2,000 euros, and on top of that I’m facing another move as a dangerous bacterium threatens my animals. I’m doing everything I can for them, but the financial burden is overwhelming.

The last six years haven’t always been easy, but the past year has been the hardest. And the start of this new year is bringing major challenges too. But giving up isn’t an option – not for me and not for the animals who depend on me.
