Description
English below - Spanish below
So many people lost everything in the storm disaster in Valencia on 29 October 2024:
- Children lost their parents! Adults lost their parents, siblings or other close relatives. Friends lost their friends.
- Irreplaceable memories such as old photos and documents have been destroyed forever.
- Mementos and valuables were swept away by the mudslide.
- Houses have been destroyed forever or must be demolished.
- A great many people have had their livelihoods taken away: their homes, cars and jobs. Over 120,000 destroyed cars have been counted so far!
- Four weeks after the disaster, a great many people still have NO electricity. A great many people are dependent on volunteers and donors for their food supplies.
- For the most part, the streets still look like a war zone and are also still covered in contaminated mud.
Affected areas include: Torrent, Xirivella, Picanya, Alfafar, Paiporta, Benetúser, Sedavi, Catarroja, Albal, Llombai, Algemesi, Massanassa...
For thousands of people, the disaster is unfortunately far from over. Even though the Spanish people’s willingness to help is enormous.
We can all do our bit to make the situation a little more bearable for those affected by bringing a little joy to the children.
I have a dream and I need your help!
My dream is this:
*** Christmas presents for children in Valencia ***
In the week before Christmas, we’ll set off from Quesada (Rojales, Spain) in a large lorry, dressed as Father Christmas and packed with at least 2,000 Christmas presents, each worth at least €20.00, heading for the areas in Valencia affected by the storm disaster of 29 October 2024, and we’ll hand out the presents to the children there.
Who’s joining in and donating at least €20.00? We’ll use the money to buy presents for the children, which we’ll hand over in person. I’ll keep you updated with photos and videos!
Everything will be documented in detail and any questions can be asked in the Facebook group
Ayuda Valencia: Christmas Presents for the Children

. Here you can also offer further help, get involved and follow the progress.
Anyone who knows me will be aware that I successfully ran a similar campaign in 2019 following the major storm DANA in Los Alcázares (Murcia). I would be absolutely delighted to see a great turnout!
Yours
