I am 67 years old and was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer, a tumour affecting the oesophagus and the entrance to the stomach, which prevents me from eating as I normally would. I have lost a lot of weight as a result of this situation, so I have had a gastrostomy tube fitted (a tube inserted through the abdomen directly into the stomach for enteral feeding, medication and fluids). This will help me gain weight so that I can soon have an operation to remove the tumour.

Medical costs are very high here in Venezuela, where I am currently based. It is extremely difficult to afford this type of treatment given the country’s current situation, so I am in need of support—however big or small it may be—which will be received with great gratitude.
