Hello, I’m the mum of a ten-month-old little girl called Sofinka. I don’t really know where to start, but I’ll try to describe it briefly: I was quite heavily addicted to drugs. I was selfish and carried on taking drugs even during my pregnancy; when my little one was born, my world changed. They took my little one away from me straight away at the maternity hospital and placed her in temporary foster care. I travelled to see her every Friday for a whole month. In the meantime, I arranged treatment where I could go with her. I arranged for testing twice a week. I arranged outpatient treatment and I managed it all perfectly. I’ve now been clean for 11 months. I fought to get my little girl back; I was with her during detox and now we’re fighting this together. It’s incredibly tough for me because I went back to her dad, who treated us absolutely terribly, so I had to leave. I’m now living in a women’s shelter with a confidential address. We are completely without any financial resources, which is why I’d like to reach out to people with a plea for help so that I can finally find Sofinka a normal, stable home and we can start living a normal life. I’m trying my very best to be a good mum. I’m trying to stay clean, and I attend regular weekly testing and outpatient treatment; I can provide proof of all this if necessary.
