Description
Hello, my name is Sónia, I’m 46 years old and, since December, my life has changed completely.
On 22 November, my father, aged just 51, passed away from a tumour in his pancreas; since that day, my life has never been the same, and I have been constantly depressed and unhappy.
In December, my mother was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Back in 2018, she had already battled an ovarian tumour, and once again I had to be her support.
I stopped working so I could look after her after the operation, during her chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments.
For years I worked as a healthcare assistant at the Hospital dos Capuchos.I was alwaysdedicated to helping others, doing so with all my love and care. I never imagined that one day I would need help myself. Sadly, my mother passed away on the day she would have turned 66, and since then I have been going through a very difficult time. I no longer have parents, and my only brother has distanced himself — I haven’t seen him since my mother’s funeral.
At the moment, I have no income, no food, no electricity and several overdue bills.
I also have a cat who is my greatest and best companion; her name is Mias. On top of that, I’m battling severe depression and anxiety, with several trips to A&E due to psychotic episodes. I need to keep taking my medication, but even that has become a challenge.
I’ve set up this GoFundMe to ask for urgent help — whether for food, basic bills and medication, or simply to get some relief whilst I try to get back on my feet and find a new direction.
Any contribution, however small it may seem, makes all the difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who reads, shares or helps. ❤️
With gratitude,
Sónia
