Description
Hello . I've had multiple sclerosis since I was 25. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that progresses over time. Because of the undesirable effects of this disease, such as fatigue, impaired motor skills, urinary and visual problems, as well as cognitive and sensory problems, I can no longer lead a normal active life, I can no longer work. My life consists mainly of 4 physiotherapy sessions a week (so as not to lose what I've got left too quickly), various medical appointments (MRI, ultrasound, ophthalmology and neurology consultations), appointments with my orthoptist and day hospitalisation for my treatment. I'm on chemotherapy and immunosuppressants. The main aim of my treatment is to prevent the rapid progression of my disease by preventing me from having too frequent relapses that cause neurological problems. As I have motor difficulties, I receive home help because I can't do my own housework and shopping, and I live on a reduced disabled adult allowance and a disability pension. I have a lot of expenses linked to my illness, such as osteopathy sessions, speech therapy sessions, various medical appointments that are not covered, the purchase of specific equipment (such as a cane, a walker to get around, a wheelchair on hire, the fitting out of my personal vehicle or the purchase of a new automatic (after a medical check-up to validate my driving licence because I'm ill I can no longer drive a manual gearbox) I have to switch to an automatic gearbox because my lower limbs don't respond properly. My inability to work has put me in financial difficulties. I live alone and it's true that the disease isolates a lot of people, I no longer have a normal life for my young age and I can't ask for help from friends or relatives. I'm only 38 and I don't have the same daily concerns as everyone else. The first thing I do when I wake up is check that I haven't lost the sight in one eye and check that my lower limbs are working properly. I'm asking you for any financial help I can get to meet the costs associated with my condition, mainly the fitting out or purchase of a new car with an automatic gearbox so that I can continue to have a little independence and be able to go to my various appointments on my own without the assistance of a third party or an ambulance driver. Any help will be invaluable. Thank you in advance for your contribution. It will be invaluable and will help me to lead a slightly more serene and independent life. Together we can achieve the impossible and without you I won't be able to do it. Thank you again for your help.
