I am Herminia Isabel López Benítez. This initiative was born from my own experience with mental health, from a deep process of fall and rebirth, today with firmer roots than ever I want to spread my wings to help other people who are going through the invisible pain of anxiety and depression and loneliness.

The foundation will be based in the region of Girona and its mission is to offer a centre for intensive emotional care, accessible, dignified and real, in a space where people can receive psychological and psychiatric support with continuity without having to wait months for an appointment and while living their pain in silence today I will take a fundamental step, launching our initial fundraising campaign our first goal is to reach the sum of 60,000 euros to cover the rental of therapeutic premises, professional and office equipment and an initial schedule of psychologist and psychiatrist legal management service to formalize the foundation.

This is only the beginning of a great help for the community of the sick person with anxiety and depression I call it community because it is a silent illness that is among all of us and that is not seen only the person that we live that we see we cry we suffer or we try to get out of the darkness several times a day, we know the reality ,I was on the waiting list to be seen by psychologists and psychiatrists, it is very long, the wait is very long, my objective is to set up this foundation to be able to help many people while I was in the mental health area I saw how people cried and waited and asked for help and they were answered, we have to wait for the list we cannot go on living like this I think it is time that we started to make mental health more visible, it is not only necessary to be mad, mental health is anxiety, depression, loneliness.

The foundation is going to be non-profit, we also want to work with the public sector, we don't want to go beyond the public health system of the social security but we will try that through this, many people come to us, we want to be a channel to alleviate a little the saturation that the public health system is having in terms of mental health, because it has increased a lot after COVID 19, the idea is to work together with the public health system but the foundation Raíz VIVA Y ALAS LIBRES, its mission is to help and not for profit.

That all people in need of containment whether they are children, adolescents, elderly people who are in the residence, all without distinguishing colour, race or nationality, the foundation will treat all equally and will continue to seek support throughout the community both in the channels and in your community, as a public and private entity because this foundation is born to live and let live.
