Leo is a grey clump that was in agony near the staircase of a block of flats, unable to eat and in great pain. We took him in on 30/12/2024, and since then the little guy has been through a lot: daily visits to the vet, tooth extraction surgery, tests, infusions. He is suffering from FIV (feline HIV) which is affecting his teeth and gums as well as his kidneys, being in renal failure. We treated one problem and another one came up. But he's a strong-willed, strong-willed cat that won't give up. You will also be able to see his evolution in the pictures on my Instagram account and the more detailed story. We have spent so far 1500 euro in one month and unfortunately he needs longer term treatments (azodyl treatment 2 capsules a day plus 2 weekly visits to the vet for infusable treatment), which are too much financial effort for us at the moment. He is a young, energetic cat, he plays, eats well, is cuddly and has become very attached to me. Together with the doctors we have decided that it is worth fighting on as he has a good chance to live a good life with this treatment (we are doing our best to lower his urea and prevent uraemic coma).
