Many years ago, my grandfather Pippo decided to create, together with his four brothers, a place that could bring them all together during the summer, a place where each brother would live in his own little house, with his own family, but without walls and barriers between one house and another. Imagine five houses arranged in a horseshoe shape and a large open space where people would gather to eat, dance and celebrate life.

When they built it they were young men, but soon the families expanded and their children gave birth to other children and that place became filled with magic, love, union and its power indescribable. That is why I carry Goofy's house in my heart. It marked my childhood and that of my sister for its immense beauty and also for the magic of the place where it is housed, Terrasini, a stone's throw from the sea, in peace and silence, a great fortune.

The moments spent there are the ones I remember most vividly because that place is pure love, and for a long time it allowed me to lighten the pain of life.

Then it happened that my dear grandfather went to heaven and that house gradually began to die with him.

No one in the family took an interest in keeping that place alive, and this little house loses a piece with each passing day, and I lose a piece of my heart with it, seeing it in that condition.

My sister and I feel a strong desire to look after this place and not let it become a pile of rubble. We want to care for it, nurture it, cultivate within it that love that our grandfather passed on to us and that lies within us.

We have tried in every way to decelerate the ageing process of the house, but unfortunately many years have passed and the work to be done is structural. Work needs to be done on the roof and the foundations of the house because of a serious damp problem. We have requested more than one estimate and the figure is around 20,000 euro.

Unfortunately, my sister and I cannot afford to pay that kind of money, despite a thousand sacrifices.

I would never have thought of fundraising because I am aware that there are much bigger and more serious situations than this in the world today. But we don't have much of a choice and perhaps it is time to start believing in the love that people can transmit.

I hope that the fate of this house will change.
