We’d like to ask people for help. I have to step in for my brother’s mum and dad, and sometimes it’s all too much for me. I’ve got loans to pay off, and whatever’s left goes on food. They treated us to a once-in-a-lifetime trip when I’ve been working since I left school. I work and work, and I just want my brother and I to have a slightly better life.

Description

Hello, I signed up to this site because I know there are people in life who are in even tougher situations and in much poorer health, and they deserve help too. I help out whenever I can. From the age of 12, I did odd jobs and helped my mum as much as I could, and then I juggled school and work as our dad left us. Straight after school, I founda permanent job and have been working ever since, plus doing some part-time work. I may be young, but it has also taken a toll on my health – irregular meals, stress, lack of sleep, overwork. I believe there are still plenty of good people who understand the difficult times I find myself in today, especially as my parents divorced when I was little, and three years ago our mum also passed away at a young age because she fell ill and, on top of that, caught Covid-19 in hospital. We lost the most important thing in life, the one who brought us into this world .So my 20-year-old younger brother and I are left on our own. I’m working and he’s still studying, but he’ll probably have to put his studies on hold and find a part-time job so we can get by a bit better.I paid for the whole funeral myself, as he’s still at school, and I had to settle all Mum’s outstanding debts, so it was tough, but I took out a loan and, as I still have to pay it back and my salary is €1,000 a month whilst the repayments are high – around €600 in total – you start to think that you don’t even enjoy the job.The worst day was, and still is, 24 December, because that was the day our little angel left us. On 25 December, at 6 am, they told me that our mum had died during the night – the worst pain a person could ever feel – and we buried her on 31 December, so you can imagine how we spend Christmas in mourning. We wanted to find people here who might understand that even the smallest thing or a small amount of money can help. As they say, health is what matters, but these days, when a person just has to work to make ends meet and put food on the table, they don’t think about their health but prefer to stick it out at that job.I should also have a special diet because of my stomach; the valve at the entrance to my oesophagus doesn’t close properly, so I have constant acid reflux. Surgery is the only thing that might help, but it’s not guaranteed. I’ve already discussed this with doctors; it depends on how the valve at the entrance to the oesophagus sits for each person, so you can’t really choose what to eat as there isn’t enough money to buy lactose-free products and so on right now, because it’s much worse trying to save money when you’re paying for this. On top of that, I’ve also developed pancreatitis, so you can imagine what the diets are like there – and you have to be careful because it’s life-threatening.Thank you very much, and we’ll be very grateful for every little thing you do for us ♥️
