A warm welcome to you all. I am forced to ask for help in my battle against lung cancer.

My name is Adam and I am 47 years old.

In May this year, a CT scan of my chest revealed that I had an inoperable malignant tumour in my left lung. My world came crashing down, especially as I have three young children.

I am currently undergoing cancer treatment and have already had five rounds of chemotherapy. Each session lasts about 8 hours. Afterwards, I feel very unwell – that is, I’m very weak. I feel dizzy. I get rashes on my skin and pus-filled blisters on my head, as well as various other symptoms and a loss of appetite.

I am prescribed medication for these symptoms, but unfortunately I have to pay 100 per cent of the cost myself. On top of that, I have to buy various vitamins, which aren’t cheap either, and I drink nutritional drinks twice a day – four bottles cost 60 zł, but health comes first. I also have to eat a different diet, rich in various vitamins and minerals.

The latest chest CT scan, carried out exactly four infusions later, offers hope of a cure, or at least of remission, as the tumour has shrunk by 18 millimetres on each side.

Right now, I’m constantly worried about my health, as well as the money for treatment, food, daily living costs and bills.
