Description
‘Knihulínek in Every School’ is a nationwide project run by the Better Life Foundation, which brings the joy of books to children in nurseries and primary schools, supports early literacy and, above all, fosters character development. At a time when children’s lives are overwhelmed by speed, stress and digital stimuli, Knihulínek arrives like a gentle light, reminding children of the values upon which humanity is built: kindness, patience, respect, courage and the ability to concentrate.
Knihulínek personally visits schools and nurseries, takes part in the final reading activities of the ‘Mum, Dad, Let’s Read’ programme, and presents first-year pupils with their first book once they have learnt to read. Every child takes away not only a book, but also a powerful emotional experience that shapes their relationship with reading – and thus their future.
The project also promotes intergenerational connections: reading grandmothers visit children, children visit the elderly, and a bridge is built between the generations, strengthening empathy, respect and an awareness of the value of human life.
Donors’ support makes it possible to:
- donate books to children throughout the Czech Republic,
- fund Knihulínka’s visits to schools,
- develop programmes that build children’s character,
- create an environment where future employees grow up with the values that today’s world desperately needs.
Every donation is an investment in the future of humanity.
Every book is a seed of character.
Every child who falls in love with reading is a beacon of hope for a world that will not lose its humanity.
English version:
Knihulínek for Every School is a nationwide initiative of the Lepší život (Better Life) Foundation, bringing joy, books, and character development to children in kindergartens and primary schools across the Czech Republic. In a world overwhelmed by speed, pressure, and digital overload, Knihulínek appears as a gentle light reminding children of the values that shape humanity: kindness, patience, respect, courage, and the ability to focus.
Knihulínek personally visits schools and kindergartens, takes part in end-of-year reading events such as “Mum, Dad, Let’s Read Together”, and presents first-year pupils with their very first book once they have learnt to read. Each child receives not only a book, but also a powerful emotional experience that shapes their relationship with reading – and with their own future.
The project also fosters intergenerational connections: reading grandmothers visit children, children visit the elderly, and a bridge is built between generations, strengthening empathy, respect, and an understanding of life’s deeper meaning.
Donor support makes it possible to:
- provide books to children across the country,
- fund Knihulínek’s school visits,
- develop programmes that strengthen children’s character,
- create an environment where future employees grow with values the world urgently needs.
Every donation is an investment in the future of humanity.
Every book is a seed of character.
Every child who learns to love reading becomes a beacon of hope for a world that does not lose its humanity.
