Description
Following the success of the first season in 2025, whose concerts were sold out and for which demand was around 20% above capacity, The Silver Swan series is to be continued and expanded in 2026. The project impressively confirms that music and visual arts in dialogue and in contrast appeal to new audiences and create a special cultural experience.
The aim is to connect music, art and audience in the moment in such a way that listeners are transported to another time. Place, space, music, poetry and movement are consciously harmonised. The Ludwig Roselius Museum offers the ideal setting for this with its collection of 16th and 17th century music. Even the founder Ludwig Roselius wanted to enable visitors to immerse themselves in past worlds through the design of the period rooms.
The concert series takes its name from a madrigal by Orlando Gibbons. The Silver Swan is the centrepiece of his first book of five-part madrigals. The work encourages reflection and critical thinking, is rich in symbolism and layers of meaning and yet sounds brief and hauntingly beautiful. I want to convey this feeling to the audience at every concert, which is why I integrate Gibbons' madrigal into every programme - to sing along to.
It's my way of paying tribute to my role models who have inspired me to learn, research and pass on culture.
