I am not currently in France and would like to return there to look for a job and settle down. Unfortunately, my current situation does not allow me to do so. I have been staying with a family member for some time now and living together is becoming difficult. I have tried to find work in Belgium but it is difficult and my situation is getting worse and worse.

My husband, who is in the military, has wanted me to return to France for a long time. However, he has encountered significant financial problems: a bank overdraft of 5,000 euros is blocking his income. He has opened a new account but will not receive his salary for a few months as the transfers are made three months in advance. Furthermore, at the same time he had a dispute with PayPal and his PayPal account was blocked, depriving him of the money he had set aside to deal with unforeseen circumstances. He now finds himself with no income whatsoever to cover any expenses. Fortunately, he is currently being housed free of charge by his regiment, as otherwise things would be even more complicated. He spends his spare time looking for solutions, but nothing is improving and nothing is moving forward; his loan applications are being refused, and as for me, my situation does not allow me to apply.

At the moment, we only have my meagre income from France Travaille. This situation is very difficult to cope with, particularly because of the distance between us. I have already been separated from my husband for nine months since he joined the military. I was in Réunion whilst he was in mainland France; he couldn’t rent a flat until he’d completed his probationary period. After that, he came to bring me back to mainland France – that’s when all the problems started, and I ended up in Belgium.

I am at the end of my tether and I need your help to find a solution. I want to return to France so that I can work and rebuild our life together. Thank you
