Since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of traveling to Asia, and for the past two years, I can’t stop thinking about South Korea. I’m completely fascinated by its culture, language, and daily life. I’ve never been there, but I can feel Korea in my home. I cook white kimchi, bibimbap, doenjang jjigae – the queen of Korean soups, birthday mijokguk, bulgogi, galbijjim (beef ribs), oisobagi (cucumber kimchi), and tteokbokki. Instead of expensive perfumes, I feel like I smell like sesame oil and umami – that elusive fifth scent of Korea.

I’m learning the language, absorbing the culture, watching vlogs about everyday life in Korea, and seeking answers to questions I haven’t even learned how to ask yet. But my personal and financial situation has changed, and I can’t make this dream happen on my own.

I believe that making dreams come true starts with small steps. Maybe one day, I’ll even live there? But for now, I’d love to visit with my family, feel the country with all my senses, stand on the streets of Seoul, and think: I’m really here!

And time is flying... I want to set foot in Korea before I turn 50. And that’s only two years away! Maybe you can make my gift for turning half a century old come true and help me make this dream a reality?
