Kp Family´s Basic Needs And Education. Galaxy Foundation 256

Description

Support a child so the foundation doesn’t have to let them miss out on education to secure food.

📍 Galaxy Foundation 256 is a community-based organization (CBO) located in Uganda, East Africa.

Today, around 50 orphans, several of them former street children aged 1 to 18 live under the foundation's roof.

🌍

The Situation in Uganda

Uganda is very politically unstable, the number of children in need of help has increased, and prices have risen.

Government support does not exist, and the foundation has to manage entirely on its own.

It is a constant struggle every day for the foundation to meet all the children's daily basic needs.

🍽 Where Does the Money Go?

There are many expenses:

🍚 Food

🏠 Rent

💡 Electricity

👕 Clothes

👟 Shoes

🧼 Hygiene items

📚 School supplies, tuition fees – the list goes on...

🩺 Doctors, medicine, and dental care are also recurring and major expenses.

💃 Dance, Song, and Togetherness

Despite all this, the foundation has over the years managed to change the lives of many children through dance and song.

By working together and creating various activities such as sports, dance, and singing, they have also built a strong sense of community and a tremendous feeling of belonging – they have become like one big family.

The children express all their energy, thoughts, and ideas in a positive way through their creativity, and they share their talents, love, and joy with us via various social media platforms.

This, along with the wonderfully kind-hearted people who have supported them, has been absolutely crucial for their survival so far.

📱 The Challenge of Visibility

Many of us have been able to follow Galaxy Foundation online and seen how they have built something amazing to keep the children off the streets and out of trouble – and hopefully, they can continue to help even more children in the future.

These children and youths truly have the will, joy, passion, and a rarely seen fighting spirit, and the leader works very hard alongside them to try to create a sustainable future for both the children and the foundation.

Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly difficult to be visible online as the competition has intensified – more and more people have gained access to social media and are doing similar performances.

🏫 Education – A Gift for Life

At the start of each school term, they face a situation where they may be forced to take several children out of school just to afford the most basic needs – food and rent.

School is a recurring and heavy expense 3 times per year:

📘 Tuition fees

✏️ Books, pens, other school supplies

🎒 Backpacks, uniforms, shoes

These children have dreams about the future just like anyone else, and a way out of poverty – and that way is education.

🌟 What Can You Do?

Of course, I’m hoping for miracles with this fundraiser, because they are entirely dependent on outside support just to cover the most basic needs. But a more realistic goal is that we come together and raise enough to cover the school fees.

If we can reach that goal, we will still have eased a huge burden for the foundation – and the children will be spared the constant worry at the start of every term: the fear that maybe this time, it’s me who has to drop out of school

💝 A Gift No One Can Take Away

This is something I truly believe we can help them with – a gift no one can take away – a gift for life.

They will need that knowledge in their backpack when they leave the foundation at the age of 18.

And it’s something that will remain – even when the music stops and the performance is over.

🙌 Please Spread the Word!

Remember that no gift is too small, everything makes a difference.

No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.

Even if all you can do is help us spread the word and share the link to this page, that too is an enormously valuable help

Together we can help these children keep their dreams alive and give them the education and support they deserve 📘🎓

Thank you from the bottom of our heart for caring 🙏🏾💖 /Galaxy Foundation through Ulrica Katarina

7. Quick facts about school in Uganda.

1. In Uganda, school starts at the age of 6.

2. The school year starts at the end of January or beginning of February and has 3 semesters.

3. Most children only attend primary education, which is 7 years.

4. In Uganda, 67% of pupils complete primary school.

Only 25% continue school after primary school

5. The class sizes are large, often 70-150 students per class, which is a problem for learning.

6. The age of students in Ugandan classes varies greatly, for example students in grade 3 can be between 7-16 years old.

The reasons can be that a pupil have to repeat classes because it is difficult to learn in such large classes, or not being able to pay school fees, or in other cases children coming from the street and not having attended school before.

7. Primary school is supposed to be free, but a small fee is often charged anyway.

They have to pay for all the school materials themselves, such as books, paper, pencils and so on, and most often school uniforms are required so in the end, school isn't free.
