Mr Greco accepted the appointment and, before Christmas, submitted his comments to the regional authorities; these can be viewed freely at the following link: https://www.regione.toscana.it/-/valutazione-di-impatto-ambientale.
At the same time, Italia Nostra Firenze and Italia Nostra Regione Toscana submitted their comments, and the Ente Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi also issued a strongly negative opinion.
A clear summary of some of the comments opposing the project can be found at this link: https://www.salviamoilpaesaggio.it/blog/2026/01/italia-nostra-sulleolico-di-londa-lenergia-prodotta-non-sara-utilizzata/
The battle has only just begun and your support is more important than ever.

Description
We are a group of residents and agricultural and tourism businesses in the municipality of Londa who OPPOSE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WIND FARM known as "LONDA".
(link to the Tuscany Region portal: https://www.regione.toscana.it/-/conferenze-dei-servizi-energia )
We welcome responsible tourism, with visitors drawn to the area by the unspoilt nature of the Casentino Forest Park and the beauty of a magnificent landscape, rich in biodiversity and trails, considered the most suitable for forest therapy programmes.

The construction of an industrial energy site consisting of 6 WIND TURBINES approximately 200 metres high on the Croce a Mori ridge, right on the border of the Casentinesi Forest National Park, is a monstrous environmental and economic disaster.
These are destructive installations that have a severe impact not only on the landscape but also on the hydrogeological stability of the ridges; they involve massive deforestation and over-construction, and cause harm to protected wildlife, including eagles.
These plants have a significant acoustic impact, as the incessant noise produced by wind turbines of this size is harmful both to those living nearby and to animals.
They are polluting installations because, once in operation, the blades release microplastics as they wear down, and to date there is no effective process for disposing of worn-out blades.
During installation, they involve devastating works, including earthworks to widen access roads, the felling of centuries-old trees, and the pouring of concrete several metres thick over a 23-metre diameter area.
These are installations that drastically alter a landscape which is a common good to be protected for future generations (Article 9 of the Italian Constitution)
These plants are highly profitable for those who build them, so local authorities often gain immediate economic benefits by supporting the project, WHILE THE LOCAL AREAS PAY THE PRICE FOREVER.
This has a severe impact on both the local economy and property values. Furthermore, if the plant is given the go-ahead, the necessary land will be purchased by the construction company; however, if the owner refuses to sell, it will be expropriated for ‘public utility’.
We have the urgent and specific aim of STOPPING THIS PROJECT THROUGH LEGAL OBJECTIONS BEFORE DEMOLITION AND DEFORESTATION BEGIN; for this reason, we have engaged the services of lawyer Michele Greco and are working alongside ITALIA NOSTRA and the local committees for the protection of natural heritage in pursuit of this common goal.
But there is a broader and no less important objective: to help set serious legal precedents that will deter the speculative onslaught currently facing so many areas of Italy. THE ENERGY TRANSITION IS ESSENTIAL but must be carried out whilst PROTECTING FORESTS, SOIL, BIODIVERSITY AND HEALTH.
Local authorities, convinced that they cannot stop the project, have chosen, for the time being, to secure promises of financial benefits for the local coffers and services to compensate for the damage.
This has fuelled the greed of some and diverted the attention of many from the fundamental issue: THERE IS NO SPARE PLANET TO WHICH WE CAN MOVE ONTO ONCE WE HAVE ERADICATED LIFE AND DESTROYED ALL BEAUTY ON THIS ONE. If we continue to bow to speculative logic by pandering to a short-sighted and industrial vision of ‘energy transition’, WHAT KIND OF EARTH WILL WE LEAVE TO OUR CHILDREN?
An ecological transition free from speculation is possible, and many are showing how. (TESS: https://www.coalizionetess.com)
HELP US RAISE FUNDS TO ENABLE LAWYER MICHELE GRECO TO WIN THIS BATTLE TOO, becauseit is possible to oppose and win: we need to submit valid objections to the project by the end of 2025 by commissioning expert reports from professionals, and time is truly running out.
