It's been a really difficult 12 months. Starting with all my savings being eaten up by the German tax office in Spring 2024, due to the faulty and incomplete work of a German tax advisor...to German wide recessions over the summer, killing some of my paid work projects in motion... to then have arts & culture funding being cut in Berlin, in the fall of 2024. Another source of income ... I work in the arts & culture sector and when all of my revenue sources seemed to be drained beyond my comprehension, I went to the unemployment office to get help, 😔 but unfortunately they denied my request for financial assistance, due to a my visa status as a foreign freelance worker in Berlin. With monthly payments and looming creditors knocking on my door, I turned to my community for help. Where the social services I pay for in taxes were of no help, my community had bailed me out and I'd like to pay all those lovely friends back , and cover some encoured bills . I couldn't of survived this time without them, and though I was able to gain part-time employment in a tree nursery ( with visa restrictions) it just barely covers my monthly expenses. So I kindly ask for your help to pay those friends back who helped me so much, some whom have also lost work or are going through job transitions in the last 6 months.
