My name is Natalia Przewoźna. I am a student at the G. I K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź in the double bass class. I have been learning to play for five years now, but I still do not have my own instrument due to the high cost of purchasing such equipment. I use university and borrowed instruments on a daily basis, which entails many difficulties and does not allow me to develop freely. The main problem is that the double bass room belongs to all the students of the double bass class, which forces us to make a schedule of when we can use it while still taking into account lessons with professors. This severely limits the amount of time spent just practising. In addition, the instrument has to be kept in the right conditions, and it has to be cleaned and humidified. The university is located in several buildings, and the double bass room is only in one, which limits the availability of the instrument during the day.

I am a committed young artist and, in addition to the double bass, I am studying art education in musical arts. I am developing skills in conducting and music pedagogy, these skills I would also like to use with the double bass.

I would like to have my own double bass in order to be able to develop my technical skills, to improve my musical interpretation, to give concerts as a soloist or in chamber ensembles, and to play in an orchestra (which is what I am looking forward to in my professional future, as it gives me great pleasure). Having my own instrument would also open the way for me to travel to competitions and masterclasses, which is essential in a young musician's career.

The problem still remains the very high cost of buying a good quality double bass. The price of an instrument with the right workmanship and sound quality is at least a dozen thousand zlotys. Unfortunately, as a student, I cannot currently afford such an expense. I have been saving up small sums of money by giving music lessons, but the amount I need is too much for me and my family at the moment. This is why I am turning to you...

I have been thinking about starting this fundraiser for a long time and have been very hesitant, but I would like to fulfil my dreams and share my passion with others. I am therefore asking for your support in making my intentions come true. The double bass is not just an instrument, but my musical partner with whom I want to go through life.
