My name is Iben, and I’m married to Jørn.

I have set up this fundraising campaign because Jørn has been offered a personalised treatment programme at Praxisklinik Arcadia in Germany. The treatment involves a very high cost, which we need help to cover.

In December 2024, Jørn underwent surgery for cancer. We had hoped that the operation had removed the cancer, but at the first follow-up scan, the doctors found that it had spread to the abdominal cavity.

Since the operation, Jørn has undergone three different courses of chemotherapy. The first two did not have the desired effect. The third appeared to be working for a while, but the latest scan has unfortunately shown that the cancer is growing and spreading again. The treatment has therefore been stopped, and we have been told that there are no further treatment options available for Jørn in Denmark.

But Jørn is not ready to give up.

He wants to live and to have the chance to spend many more years with his family – not least our son, Lucas, who has just turned 18. There is still so much Jørn wants to experience, and so much of life he wants to be a part of.

That is why we have been looking for other options. At Praxisklinik Arcadia in Germany, the clinic has drawn up a personalised treatment plan for Jørn. The programme includes, amongst other things, hyperthermia, PBM therapy, PEMF therapy, hydrogen and oxygen inhalation, IV infusions and Luxxamed therapy.

The first course of treatment lasts three weeks and costs 10,000 euros per week. The clinic states that, after around half a year, many patients undergo a follow-up week of treatment, which also costs 10,000 euros. The total expected cost of treatment may therefore amount to 40,000 euros, equivalent to approximately 300,000 Danish kroner. Our fundraising target is therefore 300,000 Danish kroner.

The funds raised will primarily be used to cover the treatment itself at the clinic. If more than the treatment cost is raised, the surplus funds will be used for travel, other treatment-related expenses and, if applicable, a recuperative stay following treatment. Any remaining amount will be donated to the Danish Cancer Society, Tidslerne.

For us, this fundraising campaign is about seizing the opportunity that still exists and giving Jørn the best possible chance.
