We have some wonderful news to share—Rico's surgery was successful!❤️
Thanks to your kindness, generosity, and support, Rico was able to undergo the leg amputation he urgently needed. The surgery went well, and he is now safely recovering at home.
The next few weeks will be focused on rest, pain management, and helping Rico adjust to life with three legs. Although the road to recovery will take time, we are incredibly grateful that he has been given a second chance.

Hello,
Our beloved degu, Rico, is going through the most difficult time of his life.
A few days ago, Rico suffered a devastating injury to his hind leg. We rushed him to the veterinarian, hoping that it could be treated, but unfortunately the damage is too severe. The veterinarian informed us that the only way to stop his pain and save his life is to amputate the injured leg.
Despite everything, Rico is still fighting. He eats, responds to us, and wants to live. We want to give him that chance.
Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery, medication, and post-operative care is more than we can currently afford.
Our GoalWe are trying to raise €200 to cover:
- Emergency leg amputation
- Veterinary treatment
- Medication
- Post-operative care
Every donation, no matter how small, brings Rico one step closer to receiving the surgery he urgently needs.
