Description
I'm a young woman of 21, and I left the family home when I was 18 because of an unbearable situation: a violent father and an absent mother. When I made this decision, I took it upon myself to reconcile my law studies with a student job. However, I had to interrupt my studies because of social phobia: I was attacked on my way out of work, and then mononucleosis forced me to take a long break, preventing me from returning to the job.
With no steady income, I had to move back in with my mother, but she quickly asked me to leave. To support myself, I took a permanent job, giving up my studies for good. For over a year and a half, my life came to a standstill: my working hours no longer matched those of my friends, my social life collapsed and my dreams were extinguished.
Determined to go back to school, I chose the sandwich course route. However, on a salary of €1,070, including €140 in credit repayments each month, I'm struggling to make ends meet. By the 8th of the month, I don't have enough to eat properly. I don't dare ask anyone for help, consumed by the shame of not being able to manage on my own. My financial problems are poisoning me to the point where I can't see any way out.
