Dear friends, acquaintances and strangers, dear people, I am Edina Bugár, Head of Communications at Lumoconcept and one of the founders of EKG, or the Healthy Creative Economy. EKG is a new and independent professional initiative working to create the conditions for a healthy creative economy in Hungary.
I am raising funds so that I can complete the Design Leadership MBA programme at Future Academy London. This programme, which has been running successfully for 11 years, combines design thinking, a leadership mindset, strategy and an international perspective in a way that directly supports the work I wish to continue developing in Hungary.
The full cost of the programme is 45,000 GBP. I was fortunate enough to be awarded a GBP 20,000 scholarship from the Birch Fund, so the amount still required to cover the tuition fees is GBP 25,000 plus GBP 5,000 VAT. The course starts on 12 July, and I need to pay two instalments of 5,000 GBP in advance by then.
Unfortunately, my employer is unable to fund this course, and I am not in a position to cover the remaining costs on my own. Based on my detailed budget, the total amount of funding required — including tuition fees, travel (on low-cost flights), the visa and other programme-related costs — is 13.5 million forints, roughly 38,000 euros.
That is why I am now turning to my community, my collaborators and my supporters for help.
My work has always centred on creative strategy, brand building, communication and design. Over the years, I have also seen that there is enormous potential in the Hungarian creative sector, yet there are still structural shortcomings that hold back its strength in the long term.
EKG was launched just over a month ago in collaboration with creative professionals from my immediate professional network, driven by a commitment to help create the conditions for a healthier creative economy in Hungary.
This training programme is an important next step for me, as it will help me bring greater strategic capacity, a stronger leadership toolkit and a broader international perspective to this work.
The knowledge and network of contacts I have gained here serve the long-term goal of helping to build a more collaborative Hungarian creative ecosystem, where all areas of the creative industries, culture, education, business and public policy are more closely interconnected.
I will use the grant for the following:
- The remaining tuition fees after the scholarship: 25,000 GBP / approx. 10.4 million HUF / 29,100 EUR
- as well as 5,000 GBP / approx. 2 million HUF / 6,000 EUR
- Travel and accommodation during compulsory programme trips, using low-cost options: as part of the travel budget of approx. 9,000 EUR, over five trips within 12 months
- Visa and administrative costs: as part of the 60 EUR budget allocated for visas.
- Living and participation costs associated with the programme: from the remainder of the total budget.
I am very grateful for all your support, shares, connections and messages of encouragement. Every single contribution brings me closer to completing this programme and bringing the knowledge I gain there back to the Hungarian creative sector.
By supporting this campaign, you’re investing in the future of Hungarian creativity, leadership and collaboration.
Thank you for sharing my vision. :)

Hello, I’m Edina Bugár, Chief Brand Officer at Lumoconcept and founder of EKG (Egészséges Kreatív Gazdaság)—an independent professional initiative working to create the conditions for a healthy creative economy in Hungary.
I am raising funds to complete the Design Leadership MBA at Future Academy London, a programme that combines design thinking, leadership, strategy and an international perspective in a way that directly supports the kind of work I want to do in Hungary.
The full tuition fee is 45,000 GBP. I have already been awarded a 20,000 GBP Birch Fund scholarship, which leaves 25,000 GBP still to be covered.
My employer is unable to fund this programme, and I am unable to cover the remaining costs myself. I have drawn up a detailed budget, and the total funding required for tuition, travel, a visa and programme-related expenses is 13.5 million HUF / 38,000 EUR
This is why I am turning to my community, collaborators and supporters for help.
My work has always centred on creative strategy, branding, communication and institutional development. Over the years, I have witnessed both the enormous potential of Hungary’s creative sector and the structural gaps that still limit its long-term strength.
EKG was launched over a month ago in collaboration with creative professionals from my close network as part of our commitment to creating the conditions for a healthier creative economy in Hungary. This MBA is an important next step as it will help me bring greater strategic capacity, stronger leadership tools and a broader international perspective to that work.
The knowledge and network I gain through this programme will support my long-term goal: to help build a more resilient creative ecosystem in Hungary, where design, culture, education, business and policy are better connected.
The funds raised will be used for:
- Remaining tuition fees after the scholarship: 29.1k EUR
- VAT: 6,000 EUR
- Travel (low-cost airlines) and accommodation (low-cost) for compulsory programme-related trips: part of the 9k EUR travel budget (5 trips over 12 months)
- Visa and administrative costs: part of the 60 EUR budgeted for visa expenses.
- Programme-related living and participation costs: the remaining portion of the total budget.
I am deeply grateful for every contribution, share, introduction and message of support. Every donation brings me closer to completing this programme and bringing its value back to the Hungarian creative sector.
By supporting this campaign, you are helping to invest in a stronger future for Hungarian creativity, leadership and collaboration.
Thank you for believing in this vision.
