Help a Family Relocate for the Safety of Their Transgender Child

A Slovak family is facing an unimaginable decision—they must leave their home and the community they've built over the years in order to protect their child. Their child recently came out as transgender, and since then, they’ve been subjected to increasing hatred, bullying, and threats—both at school and in their own neighborhood. That's also the reason why they wish for their identity to stay hidden.

Despite numerous efforts to resolve the situation through dialogue, school officials and local authorities have remained indifferent or unhelpful. The child has grown afraid to go outside, has become withdrawn, and is struggling emotionally.

After many sleepless nights, the family made the difficult choice to move abroad—to a country where transgender children are more protected by law, and where schools actively support their rights and safety.

However, such a move comes with serious financial challenges. The family is raising €12,000 to cover relocation costs, temporary housing, school supplies, basic essentials, and much-needed psychological support for their child during this major transition.
