Today we are starting a fundraiser for an eight year old girl, Eva, who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, cancer! Eva is an energetic little girl, but sadly the disease has affected her so badly that she is now dependent on a tracheostomy and with one little eye she can hardly see as she has suffered and facial palsy. Eva has been hospitalised at the Instituto Oncologic Professor Doctor Alexandru Trestioreanu, Fundeni, in Bucharest, where she underwent chemotherapy. Eva's family needs each and every one of us to make her battle with the disease much easier. The expenses related to the illness are enormous for her parents.

" - Eva is our first child. Until 2020, she was a healthy child with no medical history, and nothing foretold the nightmare that was about to begin for us...

Around the beginning of 2020, we noticed that Eva had problems with her vision and often had an imbalance when walking, that's why, after a medical consultation, it was not recommended that she wears glasses. After a couple of weeks, we noticed a drooping of the corner of her mouth, hence these doctors recommended many vitamins.

Unfortunately, all this had no effect on Eva. Her condition was getting worse and worse and a squint and a slight facial paresis were becoming more and more visible. In September, the doctors decided to subject her to a brain CT scan, which showed that Eva had developed a brain tumour.

She had to be urgently and immediately started chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, my little girl has paresis on her right side, including a vocal cord paresis, which is why she currently needs a tracheostomy permanently. On top of that, her little eye is so damaged, she can't tear anymore and every day she needs artificial tear drops to keep it from drying up.

However, I still have hope that she will be okay. The doctors to do their best to save my little one but we also need your support, dear people. So far we have managed to manage with our savings and husband's salary but it is not getting any harder. Because Eva's grandfather was also diagnosed with lung cancer, the expenses related to the disease have doubled.

Eva has undergone 4 operations: 2 brain operations, one neck operation and one tummy operation.

At the moment Eva can't speak, she can only eat through a hose directly into her tummy. She has a tracheostoma in her throat and is being suctioned out of the secretions so as not to drown with the help of a machine, every 30 to 30 minutes. She also can't walk, so she has physiotherapy."

The monthly treatment (part of which is compensated) costs the family 600 lei, the monthly trips to Bucharest for analyses and check-ups, the maintenance of the breathing machine, and the physiotherapy, which comes to 3000 lei a month. That is why Eva needs our help because her parents cannot afford such a high amount for her.
