On 17 July, early in the morning, the fire forced me and my young children to flee the burning house. It is an experience that will remain with us for the rest of our lives.... Not only for what we lost, but for what we felt: fear, helplessness and despair mixed with a single thought: to save the children. We lived together in the house: me, my 4-year-old son Kacper and my 2-year-old daughter Nikola. This was our place, our world. Our daily life. Today I can say that only ruins remain of it. Despite everything that happened, I am grateful.

Grateful to be alive. That we managed to escape. But what the fire left behind is difficult to describe in words. We lost everything we owned: clothes, household items, children's toys, memories hidden in everyday objects. Now I am faced with a difficult journey of rebuilding my life from scratch, step by step. there are many demands, and daily life with two small children does not offer much. It won't be easy, but I know I have to try for them. For Kacper and Nikola.

Because even if nothing remains of the walls, we still have each other. And from there, we can start all over again.
