This time, however, it was different, because from the very first days after the outbreak of the conflict, we were all able to see touching pictures and videos of people and families who, fleeing in despair, did not hesitate for a single second to take their animals with them.The volunteers never wanted to abandon the animals they had always cared for, even at the risk of their own lives and even with greatly reduced food resources and basic necessities. Even Dr Natasha Mazur, head of the Kiev municipal kennels and veterinary clinics in the area, has never stopped working with her team, going day after day to the clinics where the animals were most urgently in need of help.
