The outbreak of war, as well as being a terrible act, has devastating consequences in both the short and long term, not only for the civilian population but also for animals, who are often overlooked. This time, however, it was different, because from the very first days of the conflict, we have all been able to see moving images and videos of people and families who, fleeing in desperation, did not hesitate for a single second to take their animals with them.The volunteers never wanted to abandon the animals they had always cared for, even at the risk of their own lives and despite severely limited food supplies and basic necessities. Dr Natasha Mazur, head of the municipal dog shelter in Kyiv and the local veterinary clinics, has also never stopped working with her team, visiting the clinics day after day where the animals were in the greatest need of urgent help. Through the fundraising campaign ‘HELP WAR VICTIM ANIMALS’, we are seeking to provide concrete support to local organisations which, in the midst of armed conflict and an increasingly difficult situation, are dedicating themselves day after day to the animals in the area.Together, we can give hope for life to the animals caught up, through no fault of their own, in the war
