Description

I am Sándor Juhos from Hungary. In Győr, in Török István utca 36, I have created a museum in memory of the production and rescue of the Hungarian Volvo Laplander C202 SUV. As the Transport Museum does not have a displayable example of this vehicle, nor does the former manufacturer, the Hungarian Csepel Car Factory's Museum of Vehicle History, I have created a showroom where there is a displayable example of every C202 Laplander vehicle type produced, as a result of 30 years of research and collecting. This is a challenging and difficult task, as only 3,324 of these vehicles have been produced and distributed to 43 countries around the world. I have tracked down the surviving vehicles, production drawings, blueprints, microfilms, type certificates, brochures, photos, videos, factory mock-ups, models, toys, interesting parts and have created a museum on hundreds of square metres that can be visited free of charge. I keep in touch with the owners of the remaining examples and help them with service and parts background, technical advice. The museum and the vehicles in it are currently being maintained, repaired, expanded, upgraded and maintained by my own means for several years. I have not received any grants or assistance to date. Visitors make voluntary donations to the coffer when they visit. I organise exhibitions and events, give lectures and take a copy of the museum vehicle and its display equipment to special events to introduce people to this unique piece of vehicle history. It is difficult to maintain on a self-financed basis, due to the high overheads of the premises and the high heating bills in winter. Currently, hundreds of schoolchildren visit the museum free of charge on a monthly organised basis, and I present information about the car, the factory and the stories that go with it to thousands of interested visitors. Unfortunately, the high maintenance costs make it difficult to finance the museum's development and growth. Every visitor who supports it gets an extra personalised VIP tour. I urge potential supporters to visit the museum if they can and see for themselves what a noble cause and endeavour they are supporting. Please make sure that your support is significant and important to the survival of the museum, so that it can continue to disseminate the cultural information about this historic industrial monument and maintain, preserve and continue to present its memory for posterity. As there are fewer and fewer museums of this kind in the world, my museum has been added to the list of the World's Car Museums. Please donate a few euros to help the museum survive, enabling it to organise visits for those who cannot afford to visit museums that are only accessible by buying a ticket. I organise visits for children living in orphanages, for the needy, for the disadvantaged, so that I even finance and organise the cost of the trip to the museum. Thank you for your support.
