Christmas Fundraiser for the Centre of the Universe

Dear friends, at this special festive time, we are reaching out to you with a simple, very human request. For almost six years, Sztabki has been supporting others — through humanitarian, social and cultural initiatives. Together, we have created events such as Polish Day in Brussels, but also something far more important: the Centre of the Universe — a home for volunteering, meetings and real help

For the past two years, we have been running this place without any regular funding. From January, we want to rely on donors — because today we know one thing: no institutional funding can replace the power of people who believe in the value of working together.

It is thanks to you that places like this can exist and continue to grow. We are raising funds for the rent and the stability of Centrum Wszechświata’s operations.

Every €1 really does make a difference and genuinely expands our capabilities We believe that good deeds come back to us — and this place is the best proof that even small gestures can build something lasting, safe and needed by others. Together, we can ensure that Centrum Wszechświata remains a space of hope, connection and support — in 2026 as well.

The Centre of the Universe is an independent, community-run space for volunteering, culture and practical support, created and maintained by people — not by institutions.

This fundraiser covers the basic running costs of the space for 12 months.

• Rent: €1,330 × 12 months = €15,960
• Electricity and gas: €170 × 12 months = €2,040
• Internet: €61 × 12 months = €732
• Water: annual charge = €500

These aren’t costs for projects or events — they’re the foundation without which this place cannot exist.

We have been running Centrum Wszechświata continuously for 4 years — without any regular institutional funding, relying solely on our own voluntary work, determination and the solidarity of people.

We took over an empty building: with no utilities, walls, floors, furniture or technical facilities. Everything you see today was built from scratch, with our own hands and thanks to the support of the community.

Every donation — even the smallest — makes a real difference to our monthly costs and brings us closer to stability.

If we do not reach the full amount, the funds will be allocated directly to covering the costs of maintaining the premises and will allow us to continue operating for as long as possible.

We are determined to make Centrum Wszechświata the most important community hub for Poles in Brussels by 2026 — an open, independent, honest and much-needed place.

This is not a fundraiser for dreams, but for specific bills and the continued existence of a place that already serves others today.
