My mother, a 53-year-old woman, suffered a terrible accident while walking home from work. Misfortune struck out of the blue, just 300 metres from home, when an irresponsible driver, on the wrong side of the oncoming lane to overtake, hit her with such force that the front of her car was destroyed.

The driver fled the scene, leaving my mum unconscious on the side of the road. A woman returning home from a normal day's work was seriously injured and her life changed forever. Doctors did everything they could but had to amputate her right leg to save her life. She is now in intensive care under strict medical supervision.

To restore at least a part of her normal life, my mum urgently needs a prosthesis to enable her to walk again. Unfortunately, the cost of this prosthesis is 52,000 lei, an amount we cannot afford at the moment.

I sincerely ask you, if you can, to help us financially. Any contribution, however small, would bring us closer to giving my mum the chance to live as normal a life as possible after this tragedy.
