URGENT: Tragedy after tragedy! Please help Viktorija rebuild her life following the fire and her losses!

My name is Viktorija, a single mum from Kaunas. My biggest dream was to create a safe home and a small horse farm for myself and my daughter. It seemed that in 2023 this dream had come true when I took out a huge loan and bought a farmstead with land in the village of Jackiškiai.

However, what was supposed to be a new beginning turned into three years of personal hell – and, sadly, that wasn’t the worst thing that happened to us.

A string of tragedies: from fire to court ruling

We worked tirelessly to create a home and a sanctuary for 20 horses and the children who looked after them. Yet fate dealt us a particularly cruel blow.

On 27 October, a fire broke out in our home.The fire spared nothing – all our possessions, all our personal belongings, everything we owned, was burnt to ashes. Even more heartbreakingly,our beloved animals also perished in the fire.

Barely a month after this horrific tragedy, we were dealt another blow – a ruthless court ruling.

The court, relying on a scheme of deception by our former neighbours (in which our honest purchase transaction was deemedto be a sham), ruled that we must hand back the farmstead and the land.

A critical situation: No home and no money

The situation is catastrophic. Although the neighbours have regained their land and property, we have so far been unable to recoverthe €64,000awarded by the court (which I paid for the farmstead). We are left with no land, no money, and no home, which was consumed by fire.

Due to legal uncertainty and the impending eviction,the 20 innocent horses cared for on this farmare now in grave danger. It is not only our family who are worried, but also the other children who have looked after these horses for many years. A long and gruelling legal battle lies ahead of us to recover the money that is rightfully ours.
