Description

Learning Technology by Building It

Children use computers, smartphones, game consoles, and other digital devices every day. In our STEM workshops, we want to show them that technology is not just something they use — it is something they can understand, explore, and create.

That is why a large part of our workshops is based on hands-on learning.

Children connect electronic components, build circuits, light up LEDs, experiment with sensors, program microcontrollers, control robots, and discover how technology actually works through their own experiments.

Why are we starting this fundraiser?

A good hands-on STEM workshop requires a lot of equipment.

Breadboards, LEDs, resistors, transistors, buttons, switches, integrated circuits, wires, sensors, motors, batteries, power supplies, and soldering boards are just some of the materials we regularly use.

And when an entire group of children is working at the same time, having only a few sets is simply not enough.

We want as many children as possible to have their own set of components in front of them — so they can build a circuit independently, make a mistake, find the problem, and try again.

That is why we would like to raise **€2,000 to purchase electronic and technical equipment for our children's STEM workshops.**

What will we purchase?

The funds raised will be used to purchase equipment and materials such as:

- breadboards for building electronic circuits

- LEDs, resistors, capacitors, and transistors

- integrated circuits for digital electronics

- buttons, switches, and potentiometers

- wires and connectors

- soldering boards and electronic components

- sensors, buzzers, and small electric motors

- batteries, battery holders, and power supplies

- multimeters and basic measuring tools

- soldering equipment and accessories for safe hands-on work

- storage boxes and organizers for electronic components

- other consumable materials needed for practical STEM activities

What do children do with this equipment?

Starting with a simple circuit consisting of a battery and an LED, we can gradually move on to alarms, light sensors, electronic games, digital logic, microcontrollers, and robotics.

It is important to us that children do not simply receive an explanation of how something works.

They get the components.

They get a challenge.

And then they try to build something that actually works.

Sometimes the LED lights up on the first try.

Sometimes it doesn't.

And that is often when the best part of learning begins:

**Why doesn't it work?**

Why do we need more sets?

In a hands-on workshop, there is a huge difference between watching someone else perform an experiment and having the components in your own hands and finding the solution yourself.

Our goal is to gradually increase the amount of equipment available so that, whenever possible, we can work according to a simple principle:

one child → one working set → their own experiment

That way, every child can truly participate.

Fundraising goal: €2,000

The funds raised will be turned into equipment that can be used across many future workshops.

Some materials, such as LEDs, wires, and soldering boards, are consumable. Breadboards, measuring instruments, power supplies, tools, and many other components can be reused again and again.

If we raise less than our target, we will purchase the most important equipment first.

If we raise more, we will be able to create additional working sets and expand the range of hands-on experiments available to the children.

How can you help?

This fundraiser is **not a product purchase or a pre-order.**

Your support is a voluntary contribution toward purchasing equipment and materials for hands-on STEM workshops with children.

Whether your contribution helps us buy a handful of LEDs, a new breadboard, or an entire set of equipment, every contribution helps put more technology directly into children's hands.

And if you cannot contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser with others is also a great way to support us.

Thank you for supporting hands-on STEM education and children's curiosity.
