My name is Alina and I am the mother of two wonderful children. They are my heart and soul, the light of my life, and the reason I keep going every day.

Some time ago, I received the devastating diagnosis: breast cancer. I still remember the shock, the fear, the sleepless nights. I started treatment and, as a result, lost all my hair. Every strand that fell was like a reminder of the disease trying to bring me down, but also proof that I am fighting.

The greatest pain is not mine, but my children’s, who look at me with wide eyes and ask: “Mummy, will it be alright?”... And I have to smile, even though inside I feel as though my heart is breaking.

My only chance now is an operation that costs around 5,000 euros. A huge sum for me, but a huge chance for my life. I wish with all my heart that I can hold my children’s hands as they grow up, to be by their side every step of the way, so that they are not left without a mother.
