A New Beginning – The Birth of a Self-Sufficient Eco-Village and Conscious Community

Introduction

We live in a world where more and more people feel that we have become disconnected from nature – and from one another.

My aim is to create a place where this connection can be revived.

I would like to establish a self-sufficient eco-village and a sustainable community space in Hungary, which can serve as a long-term example of a simpler, more conscious and nature-oriented way of life.

The chosen estate is an area with unique features: it comprises lakes, a river, forest, farmland and orchards. It already has guesthouses in operation, thus providing a stable foundation for launching the project.

The aim is to create a vibrant, functioning community where people:

grow food together (organic farming)

keep animals in natural conditions

share their knowledge and experience

and practise a more sustainable way of life day in, day out

We are building 6–7 traditional yurts on the estate, which will provide a home for those who wish to participate in this way of life.

This is not a conventional business venture – but a community-based way of living together, where participation is based on cooperation.

Those living here do not pay rent, but:

help run the farm

help with animal husbandry

support the hosting of guests

and actively contribute to community life

Why is this important?

I believe that the future lies in smaller, self-sufficient communities.

This project is not just about a place – it is about an alternative way of life that:

reduces environmental impact

strengthens human connections

and gives real freedom to those living here

The project requires €700,000 to be realised, which will cover:

the purchase of the estate

the construction of the yurts

the development of organic farming infrastructure

as well as the creation of communal spaces
