Description
My name is Levente Nimer, I am 23 years old and I live with Duchenne/Becker muscular dystrophy, a currently
incurable, progressively worsening muscle disease. This condition gradually weakens the
muscles, including the heart and respiratory muscles. I am now completely confined to a wheelchair
and my condition is deteriorating day by day. The final stage of the disease is fatal if the heart and
respiratory muscles fail completely.
Thanks to advances in science, there is finally a glimmer of hope: GIVINOSTAT (Duvyzat), an experimental therapy with HDAC-inhibiting properties. This
medicine promotes muscle regeneration and reduces inflammation and fibrosis.
The cost of a one-month supply of the drug is €39,476, which is very expensive; I would like to raise this amount, which is not possible from my own resources.
