Description
Rafael is 22 years old and has faced significant health challenges since childhood. He lives with sickle cell anaemia and Tourette’s syndrome, conditions that have shaped his life with limitations and difficulties.
Now he faces yet another battle: he is due to undergo surgery on his feet due to a deformity, and after the operation he will need a wheelchair to help him recover and regain his mobility.
Rafael lives with his mother and a younger sister. His mother is a single parent, working and earning only the minimum wage. Rafael receives a disability allowance of around €300 a month, which barely covers his basic needs.
Unfortunately, the family cannot afford to buy the wheelchair needed for his recovery.
Sininhos Oportunos – Cultural Association has decided to launch this charity campaign to help Rafael.
