In memory of my parents, John & Cristiane Axeura, we are holding a fundraiser to raise money to be donated to palliative care institutions for patients in the last stages of their lives.
In Greece, public and free palliative care facilities are extremely limited. As a result, patients and carers are left to fight an exhausting battle on their own - not only in the face of the practical issues of everyday life, but also in the face of the mental and emotional difficulties that arise.
Through this fundraiser, we are not only seeking to raise money. We also want to shed light on a reality that is often left behind: the absence of structures that offer dignity, relief and support to those who need it most.
