Description
My name is Fatima, I’m ten years old and I live on my own with my mum, Heba, in a small town in Upper Piedmont.
I have had a brain condition since birth which means I am not independent and have to use a wheelchair; I have to take various medicines to prevent the epileptic seizures that, sadly, still affect me from time to time. I find it difficult to eat and drink, so my mum has to stay with me all the time to help me; we are on our own, and this is another reason why she cannot go to work
I am writing to ask for your help because I would like my mum, after so much hardship, to be able to fulfil her dream of having a car adapted to my needs so that we can get about independently; here, public transport is scarce and not very accessible to people with disabilities.
For us, even small, everyday things like going for a walk by the lake or running an errand when it’s raining become very difficult, if not impossible.
We would need the car to be more independent when doing the shopping, going to hospital, and finally taking little trips to brighten up our days!
Thank you for your support!
A small gesture can sometimes make life easier for those who are alone and struggle more!
