Last Sunday, my dog Vito prevented my son from falling. While protecting him, he unfortunately fell down a slope.
I took him to my regular vet, who, after taking an X-ray, announced that he had a fractured femur. The fracture is located very close to the knee, and the operation is particularly delicate and requires a plate that only a few specialised surgeons, notably in Bayeux or Saint-Malo, are able to perform.
At present, I am unable to afford this operation. I am a single father and my only income comes from child benefit, much of which goes towards meeting the needs of my disabled son.
Vito is not just a pet: he is my son's assistance dog. He plays an essential role in his daily life and safety. Without him, my son's life would be much more complicated.
