Two Runners, One Mission: Supporting MABS Cancer Support Fundación

We are taking to the pavement to go the extra mile for those facing their toughest journey. On Jane will be tackling a 10km run and Christel will be pushing her limits with a 21km half-marathon—all to raise vital funds for MABS Cancer Support Fundación on Sunday 22/02/26.

Why are we running?

A cancer diagnosis is overwhelming, but for many living in Spain, the challenges go beyond the medical. Language barriers, lack of transport to distant hospitals, and the need for specialized equipment can make a difficult time feel impossible.

MABS is a 100% voluntary organization dedicated to making sure no one has to face cancer alone. They provide:

• Vital Transport: Taking patients to and from grueling hospital appointments.

• Translation Services: Ensuring patients fully understand their doctors and their treatment plans.

• Medical Equipment: Loaning wheelchairs, hospital beds, and mobility aids at no cost.

• Emotional Support: Providing counseling and a hand to hold for patients and their families.

How your donation helps

MABS receives no government funding. Every euro we raise goes directly toward these essential services. Whether it’s €5 to help fuel a volunteer’s car for a hospital run or €50 to help maintain medical equipment, your contribution makes a tangible difference in our local community.
