In May, Franciszek will undergo a second operation to lengthen his left femur. After four years of recovery from the first lengthening operation, the difference in length between his left and right leg is 7cm.

The costs associated with numerous trips, hospital stays, food, care, and post-operative rehabilitation significantly exceed our small family's financial capabilities. As a single mother raising two sons, after losing my job, I'm currently unable to take on new work with the prospect of endless hospital stays. Franek was born a healthy child. In the newborn period, he had a staphylococcal infection of the joints. To this day, my son struggles with the consequences of the infection caused by the most aggressive strain of Staphylococcus aureus, which led to irreversible changes: shortening of the left lower limb, contracture of the left knee with transverse damage to the posterior horn and body of the medial meniscus, rotation of the left pelvis, bone contracture of the left elbow, shortening of the right upper limb - the hand is 5cm shorter, contracture of the right shoulder, scoliosis, and underdevelopment of the jaw.
